Summary: This is a fine trail that lead to the highest point in the park. There is a good short section of up, up, uphill, but soon you reach the top. The only problem is that the top has been re-planted and you can not see through or above the trees. It feels like a giant Christmas tree field. However, you can find places where you get some wonderful views of Drakes Estero, Point Reyes, Marin County to the East and Mt. Tamalpais off in the distance. There are a myriad of trail, but this is the best marked trail system I have ever seen, and you have lots of choices. A good bet is to go to the amazing beach at Kelham, and return via the ultra-easy and uber-beautiful Bear Valley Trail. Trailhead: Scenic - From the Golden Gate Bridge - take the 1 North, follow its twists and turns until you get to Bear Valley Road. Make a left and follow it to the parking lot. The trail begins here. Or the less scenic, but still scenic way is to take 101 and exit Sir Francis Drake Blvd. follow it for 20 West until you find the 1, turn right, and then turn left onto Bear Valley Road. These trails are wonderfully marked. (Lat:38.03968 Lon:-122.79978) Trail Guides for Point Reyes - Mt.
