Near:Conway, NH
Scenery:
Distance:3.6 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:629 ft
Hike Time:2 hours
Difficulty:Easy
Trail Condition:Well maintained trail
HikeType:Out and Back

Summary: Easy trail ascend through hardwoods and along brook. You will have some small steep sections but overall this trail is easy - an excellent hike with kids and dogs. I even saw many older people on the trail.

The waterfall is very beautiful but is best seen in the spring and early summer when the water is running best. It tends to dry up in the late summer and fall. This might be a good winter hike.

Trailhead: From Conway NH take route 112 west (Kancamagus Highway). Watch for signs of the Champney Falls trail on your left. There is a $3.00 fee for parking here and change is not available. Trailhead is on the left side of the parking lot. You can also park here to hike Mount Chocorua on the same trail. (Lat:43.59 Lon:-71.17)

Awesome hike through birch and pine. Two waterfalls for one hike. Just make sure you do the hike during high water season, or it will be very dry.

Nov 18, 2006 Very wet, suggest waterproof boots for sure. With all the recent rain the falls were running very dtrong. Many fellow hikers on this trail and lots of 4 legged hikers as well.
