Summary: This is a flat land hike. The only elivation gain is up and down a 30 foot tower overlooking the 40 acre lake. There is plenty of wild life, dear, squirls, rabbits, birds, and yes, plenty of gators. Babies to full grown adults. Just give them about a 20 foot seperation as you walk past them on the trail. Never approach nor step over one.
Trailhead: Take SHW 762 South from US 59 in Richmond, TX. Follow brown signs to entrace to park. Primary trail head is at 29.37931N by 95.60814W.

Once you enter the park, continue down the park road till you come to the gift shop and large parking area. Turn left just past the gift shop and continue another 3/4 mile to the trail head parking area. Primary connecting trail head is well signed. (Lat:29.37123 Lon:-95.63183)

As Good as it gets along the Texas Gulf Coast. Flatlanders delight. Nice scenery. HOT and HUMID in the summer. Watch for gators, keep small children near.
