This was an awesome hike. Perfect for September when the leaves are changing colors. The water was beautiful. Scenery was amazing. We were able to see the salmon swimming up stream... hundreds of them near the end of the trail. There was a bull moose in the area and we saw a bald eagle... amazing. Hike is approximately 700ft rise and descent which means you have to descend and rise again... about 1400ft overall but still reasonable and very easy to follow. This is a beautiful hike along Causey Reservoir. We actually camped overnight at the end of the trail at the mouth of the river that feeds part of the reservoir. There is room for about 4-5 tents which makes for a quick overnight trip. We could not find this trail, are directions correct? This is a nice singletrack trail along Causey Reservoir. Some of the best scenery I was able to enjoy not only included the rock formations, and erosion layers, but also the numerous boaters and other users of the large waterway accessible by the reservoir.
