Summary: A nice hike up a forested trail, past lovely Fourth Of July lake, then over a high ridge with great views of the Sawtooth range to the west, high peaks of the White Clouds and a prettylake below. Although this lake is a nice destination lake it is also strategic as a layover for a longer hike into the Chamberlain lakes. Trailhead: The trailhead is located by following Idaho hwy 75 about 15 miles south of Stanley. After crossing fourth of July creek the gravel road access is on the left. The trailhead is about 15 miles at the end of this road. The parking area is large with unloading ramps and toilet facilities. A Sawtooth Recreation trailhead pass is required.
