Summary: Cave Creek Trail is a really nice trail that runs along the east side of a mountain ridge. The over looks are nice during the winter but I'm sure that there wouldn't be much visability during the springs and summer months. The trail is rocky in some of places and crosses a few creeks. The trail is not marked well but it is easy to see. There are some side trails not on the map toward the north end so pay attention to your map and surrounding terrain.
Trailhead: Once you reach Ashland Alabama, go north on County Road 31 which leaves the down town square at the northeast corner. Travel County Road 31 until you see a dirt road on the left called Hubbin Creek Road. Travel this road until you come to the parking area for Nubbin Creek Trail on the left. You will have to hike Hubbin Creek trail for about 2.2 miles before you reach the beginning of Cave Creek Trail. The trail can be accessed from the Sate Park also by taking the Pinhoti south until you come to the Cave Creek intersection. (Lat:33.25 Lon:-85.49)

I started this hike not realing how far out I would have to go to get there. I got there about 3:30 in the afternoon so didn't have much time to explore. Note: In the parking area there are 2 trail heads. Some how I took one and (after getting lost) came back in on the other one. Also please note that the name of the road you turn on is Nubbin Creek Trail, not Hubbin.
