Summary: Climb Edmunds Path - one of the easiest paths into a NH 4 thousand footer. Some rough spots close to reaching the intersection with the Eisenhower Loop - you find great views of Mt Washington on that area. Just upon reaching the intersection, turn left to zigzag climb Mt. Eisenhower. Caution, it is mostly exposed terrain (no trees) from here to Mt. Pierce (Clinton): could be cold and windy. Upon reaching Eisenhower, enjoy the spectacular, specially the presidential range mountains. Then continue south through the AT / Crawford Path. You will find an intersection towards Mt. Pierce (Clinton). Climb it for 0.1 mi, bag another NH 4K peak, and then return to the Crawford Path, and climb down to the parking lot. About half a mile before reaching the parking lot there is a beautiful waterfall you may want to enjoy. Trailhead: Rt 93, exit 35. Take Rt 3 North for almost 10mi, then Rt 302 East, untill the Crawford Notch parking Area on the left (past Breton Woods). Leave the "finish car" there. Right next to the parking lot you find Mt. Clinton Rd. Follow it for just over 2 miles untill you find the Edmunds Path parking lot at the right. Leave the "start" car there, and start your hike. Trail Reviews Submit your own review did this hike in July and it was crystal clear day, the views are spectacular Completed the loop on Feb. 7, 2009 from Rt 302 up the Crawford Trail to Mt Pierce then over Mt Eisenhower returning via Edmunds Trail and Mt Clinton Road. Ideal day to hike the exposed portion of the Presidentials (20's & wind 30+ mph). Eisenhower quite icy. Highly recommend crampons. Crawford Trail was packed down and easy to climb with boots. Edmunds Trail quite deep with loose snow. Hard to traverse, even with snowshoes near the top. Outstanding views from both peaks. Total walk in winter is 10 miles because Mt Clinton Rd is closed to traffic and have to walk back to lot at Rt 302 Nov 2008. Mt Pierce only due to rough trail and windy, snowy, weather. No views today but an enjoyable hike none the less. Round trip to Pierce summit from Mt Clinton road (portions closed in winter) took approx 5.75 hours Hiked this recently with my Golden Retriever "Amber". Very enjoyable and great weather. Your elevqation gain is way off. It is about 2950' total. A good variation is to go across Pierce and down to visit Mizpah Springs Hut and then take the Mizpah cut off back to the Crawford path. It only addds about .4 miles to the hikle. If you have only one car as I did the 2 mile walk along the Mt. Clinton road back to the Edmunds Path trailhead is easy. We did it in 35 min.
