Summary: Hike through a beautiful meadow along Hot Springs Creek to Devil's Kitchen, an ugly but interesting hot bed of geothermal pools and mud pots. Far less crowds here in an isolated corner of Lassen park than at Bumpass Hell or Sulphur Works. As a side trip, go to Boiling Springs Lake (additional 2 miles of hiking). Trailhead: From Chester, drive north on Feather River Drive (just east of Feather River bridge) for 0.7 miles. Turn left on Warner Valley Rd to Drakesbad for 15.7 miles to Warner Valley campground. Continue 0.2 miles past campground to the trailhead. The last couple miles is a rough dirt road. There is a $10 entrance fee for the park.
