Highlights:

Old mining remains, great views of Grays Peak
Near:Dillon, CO
Scenery:
Distance:3.5 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:2000 ft
Hike Time:2.5 hours
Difficulty:Moderate
Trail Condition:OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType:Out and Back

Summary: Follow the old road south as it enters Cinnamon Gulch. The road progressively gets worse until it ends at some old mine shafts. Before you reach the end though, look to the east for a trail that heads East up to the ridge line. Follow this hikers path as it curves south up past another old mine until you reach the ridge line. Then follow the ridge line Southwest until you reach the summit of Revenue Mountain.
Trailhead: This is a tough one to find, which makes it that much more worthwhile. On the East end of Keystone Ski Area is Montezuma Road (a.k.a. route 5), take this road East to Forest Road 260. This road is poorly marked, but has a large closure gate. Turn left onto it and follow it for 3.7 miles (this will take you past Chihuahua gulch) where you will see a right turn that crosses Peru Creek and ascends the southern side of the valley to some old mines. Drive as far as you'd like up this road, though it gets rough after a short while. (Lat:39.6026 Lon:-105.81301)

Hiked this all the way from the start of Peru Creek road. It's a great hike to get you acclimatized. Was also planning to add Decatur, Silver and Brittle Silver, but the weather got bad. See by pictures here: http://balazs.multiply.com/photos/album/50
