Summary: Follow the trail into the forest. At about 0.30 miles you will see a fork in the trail. Follow the right fork. The trail will climb a ridgeline and loop around to the left. After a few hundred yards the trail will drop into the slot canyon and will eventually return you to the fork where you may return to the parking area. Trailhead: From Silver City follow Hwy 15 north 25 miles to Hwy 35. From the junction of Hwy 15 and 35, take 35 east 4.75 miles to the parking area on the left. The sign for Purgatory Trail is the trailhead. The trailhead is 1.5 miles beyond the Lake Roberts General Store.
