Elevation Gain:250 ft
Hike Time:1.5 hours

Summary: From the parking lot cross the bridge, the trail is on left side of the road just at the end of bridge. Level hiking for most of the way with some short steep sections ( from Triple Falls to High Falls ). Backtrack to the parking lot, the trail to Hooker falls is at the bridge end of the parking lot, a nice level walk to this expansive falls. A good spot for a Picknic, bring your goodies.
This area is known as DuPont State Forest, donated to the state by DuPont chemical Co. and has many more trails and waterfalls. I suggest you buy a map of the Forest with all the trails and falls maped out, available at several of the local Brevard - Asheville area outdoor shops.

Trailhead: From Asheville take I-26 South to NC-280 exit at Asheville Airport. Follow NC-280 to first red light in Brevard, turn Left at light on NC-64 for 3.7 miles to the Texaco station in Penrose. Turn right on Crab Creek Rd and continue 4.3 miles and turn right on DuPont Rd. Ascend and descend; after 3.1 miles, find the Hooker Falls parking lot on the right just before the Little River bridge. (Lat:35.20246 Lon:-82.61922)

This is a nice hike with 3 beautiful waterfalls. This is a very popular destinations, so it can be crowded on weekends. There is now a visitors center with restrooms, but I suggest driving down the road past it to the parking lot of Hooker Falls. Start with Triple Falls & High Falls, & then come back to hike Hooker Falls( all from the same starting spot). If you want a 2nd hike, go up Hwy. 276 towards Caesars Head & hike nearby Raven Cliff Falls, another beautiful, but popular destination. Total hiking for both DuPont & Raven Cliff is about 7 miles.

It is a beautiful trail with very pleasant earthly views. I highly recommend it...yet it may be hard for children younger than five.

Very nice falls and river scenery. Trails in good condition, but easy access also means lots and lots of people. Far too many people (not to mention dogs, baby carriages, and horses). But if you want to see great waterfalls with little effort this hike will fill the bill.

This is a beautiful and pretty easy hike. All of the falls are beautiful! Triple Falls and Upper Falls are the best waterfalls I've seen in NC! And for such little effort, you'd be crazy not to check them out. After you hike up and back from the Triple Falls Trail, head to Hooker Falls and take a swim. The water is really refreshing on a sunny spring day! Have a great hike!
