Summary: Starting from the Trailhead Map, head left. You will first pass the reservable picnic shelter, and then the Allard Farm will come more and more in view on your left. Please respect the fact that the farmhouse is still private property. Where an access road comes back from the farm, head right, and you will begin climbing to the highest spot of the park. There is a bench, and a plaque commemorating the gift that the Allard family made of this park. The roughest section of the hike follows, the moderately steep descent to the bottom of the valley. There is a trail at the bottom of the hill that heads past an old mill location (but it is currently closed due to the removal of the footbridge). You will pass a sledding hill and picnic area as you complete the outer loop. The inner loop will take you through a wooded ravine, and along the lower parts of the field you saw from the overlook. Trailhead: From I-271, head west on Rte 303 until you reach State Road. Head south on State Road about 4 miles, and turn left onto Remsen Road. Allardale Park is on the north side of the road before you get to Medina Line Road.
