Summary: The Bair canyon trail Is an awesome hiking trail but is a little tougher than average This trail is also the site of the infamous Bair Gutsman race, a 10 mile mountain race held here each year in august. Bair Canyon is also a nice approach to the Great Western Trail and Mt. Francis. This trail is still one of the undiscovered wonders of the Wasatch mountains. Hiking this trail, one enjoys the peaceful sounds of the creek cascading it’s way down the mountain. Small picnic or camp spots can be found along the way to rest or spend the night. The trial is steepest near the top but the reward is incredible when you see the view of the Great Salt lake and the mountains to the west. So weather you are training for an extreme endurance race of just a lazy hike in the mountains you can find it on the Bair trail.
Trailhead: From Highway 89 in the Kaysville Fruit Heights area Turn on to Mountain road, proceeded east on East Oaks drive Turn left on 1800 East. At the end of the road you will see a sign that reads “Trail Head parking” Turn right you will find good parking at the top of a steep lane where the trail begins. (Lat:41.03022 Lon:-111.89762)

I've run the Gutsman in years past, and am returning to run it again this year. This is a fantastic and fairly difficult canyon.
