Summary: Before you do this hike you must first get permit to hike on water shed lands. Temps today were in the 20's and sunny. All the leaves are off the trees now. If you are looking for solitude this is the hike to do. You will go through some great Hemlock forests and miles of Mt Laurel (They Bloom in June). I started out on the Terrace Pond south Tr. and took it to the Yellow dot. From the Yellow Dot I took the Terrace Pond Red tr. This stretch of trail is very secluded and great forests of Mt Laurel, Hemlocks, Oaks and white pines. Where the Terrace Pond Red ends is were the water shed begins. I then took the Fire Tower West to the tower and then to the Two Brooks. This stretch there are a few tough stream crossings. From there I took the Clinton West to the Bearfort Waters/Clinton Tr. This stretch here is marked well but the trail is very hard to see. Then I got on the Old Coal tr. where I took it back to the parking. This loops is great for snowshoeing.
Trailhead: From Vernon NJ take rt 94 into Ny State. Then Make a right onto rt 21 or Warwick TPK. Follow Warwick TPK to Upper Greenwood Lake. Make a right onto Clinton Rd. Go past Pipe Line and parking for terrace Pond TR is on the right. (Lat:41.14235 Lon:-74.40714)

Nice description! Like many loop hikes, this has spectacular and less spectacular sections. Bearfort Mtn Fire Tower, Buckabear Mtn, Terrace Pond Overlooks and Boulder Pine Peak (unmarked trail off Old Coal Trail, 1,420') are all peaks of the West Milford 13ers' Baker's Dozen Challenge (www.weishike.com) and West Milford Winter 17 Challenge. Great hiking location!
