Distance:7.5 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:350 ft
Hike Time:3.5 hours
Difficulty:Easy
Trail Condition:Well maintained trail

Summary: The first and last sections of this hike arre threough the dec iduous woods of the rolling Piedmont terrain, while the central section follows the bank of the South Branch Quantico Creek as it tumbles over the rocks cutting its way to the Potomac. A watchful eye will detect the presence of beavers in numerous spots along the stream. Although you're not likely to see one of the furry fellows, the indiscriminately felled trees and the pointed stumps are sure signs that they're nearby.
Trailhead: I-95 south to exit 150B (Triangle-Quantico), with sign for Prince William Forest Park; turn right onto VA 619 and in two blocks turn right onto entrance road for park. Continue on entrance road to intersection and turn left onto the Scenic Drive. Follow signs to Turkey Run. (Lat:38.58249 Lon:-77.37293)

I read the reviews and was interested in this hike. Come to find out I could not find this trail. we walked around trying to navigate this Forrest. We found it confusing, by the time we found a decent trial. There was a blaze orange sign saying it was closed. Good exercise, but maybe next time.

This is a really nice and long hike. In Mid March at 60 degrees and sunny the trail is clean, and not too muddy. The scenery is very pretty by the creek, and there were very few people hiking. I would definitely go back.
