Summary: This is a really short hike near one of my favorite places to camp. Fort Pickens is one of the few places you can experience unspoiled beach property. The trail runs through a marsh area near the campsites. There are numerous other places to hike and see historical structures from years past. There is a lot of wildlife including poisonous snakes and pesty raccoons. Trailhead: Take U.S. 98 east from Pensacola across Pensacola Bay to Gulf Breeze. Take FL 399 from Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach. From there, Fort Pickens is nine miles west, while Santa Rosa. The trail start behind loop A campground.
