Summary: This trail guides you through a wooded area that contains 13 rare plant species. There is an abundance of sunflowers in season and I have spotted hawks nesting in clearings. The trails are primarily dirt but some have woodchips placed between railroad ties. It's an easy hike and great to take the kids on. Trailhead: From exit 73 on I-77, drive NW on SC901, turn right on Pearson Dr, go .3mi and turn left on Southland Dr, go .2mi and turn left on Winchester Dr, the parking area is about 200ft. The trail head (given in the coordinates) is a better place to start than the south end of the trail that was described in the directions. The trail was hard to find and stay on from the south end. The north end is very well marked, about every 20 to 30 feet. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
