A faint trail to the left will take you to a view of Bluerock Mountain. From the clearing, take the trail back down to the mountain to Hwy 64 and shuttle or walk back down the highway to the beginning.About a mile down from the clearing is a trail that goes to the let (see map). If you hike in about 1/2 mile there is a very old log cabin along the trail (see pic).
Trailhead: From Lake Lure, NC, head 74 West through Chimney Rock. About 1/4 of a mile from the intersection of Hwy 74 and Hwy 64 is a fruit stand on the left. Immediately behind the fruit stand is a locked gate leading to a bridge. This is the entrance to the trail that leads up the mountain to Bluerock. The gate has a combination lock that can be acquired by calling the Nature Conservancy of North Carolina or one could do and in-out hike by starting at the end of the trail described in the map listed.
