Summary: This is a city park but most people never go beyond the boat ramp or the picnic areas. Over the wooden foot bridge is a nature trail. The terrain is a flat hardpack trail. Periwinkle Creek enters the Willamette River here. It is interesting that the creek flows in the opposite direction as the river.
Trailhead: Travel south on HYW 99 east off of I-5 at exit 234B to the intersection of Albany Ave. SE and Pacific BLVd. SE head west on Albany Ave. SE to the intersection of Albany Ave. SE and SE Salem Ave. head south on Salem Ave. and watch for SE Geary head west on Geary until you come to Bowman Park on the bank of the Willamette river. About 1.5 miles from the I-5 exit. (Lat:44.64252 Lon:-123.08616)

I used to live in that area and I can tell you that there is another 'other' trail that winds back a long ways. My dog found the trailhead and we must have walked an hour and a half and never saw an end. It's not a very interesting trail but I've always wondered how far it goes; though admittedly it also had certain 'shady' characteristics.
