Nice hike with kids- but the gradual slope downhill at the beginning can lead to a surprise when the steeper uphill portion appears around a corner.

You can also take the trail along the west bank of the Brandywine creek North and cross Thompsons bridge to a continuation of the park on the east bank and more trails some of which have some pretty overlooks. There is a paved trail and a less travelled creek side path that parallel the east side of the creek and can be taken to a southern bridge, which in turn can be crossed to meet up with the trail running along the west bank of the creek... so you can easily do a 5+ mile loop if you want.
