The trail starts at the Carrick Creek Nature Center, there are several different things to do here. The trail splits from a few others, check the map at the trailhead. There are several stream crossings and one area where small children could get into trouble in the river. All in all it is a great little family hike. Trailhead: From Greenville head north on hwy 276 to Hwy 11. Follow Highway 11 until you see the park enterance. Follow the directions to the Carrick Creek Nature Center. The trailhead is behind the nature center. Winter hiking means no snakes, no ticks, and very few people!! Beautiful trail following the nearly vertical "creek". Lots of new maintenance from the trailhead to the split for the loop. Some of the steep spots were wet and a little slippery, otherwise a nice good walk. Well worth it!!! Nice trail , stays on the creek for most of the way. I would recommend this one for someone starting out hiking or maybe if you are just trying to break in a new pair of hiking boots. This was a great little challenging hike for my 6-year old. She and I finished it in 1 hr. 13 minutes, including stops. The first half is steep with lots of FUN stream crossings that kids just love! Then you get to catch your breath the last half of the hike. Very enjoyable. Amazing! First hike at Table Rock and what a beautiful place. Wonderful views and the creek is awesome! Thanks for adding this to the list of favorites!
