The trail has beautiful trees and is an unexpected pleasure in the middle of suburban living. However, the map leaves a lot to be desired. It was incomplete and gave no distances. It was impossible to actually know where you're at by using it. The most fabulous arboretum in the East! Had a great time there; perfect for dogs. Even though Isabel did considerable damage to the trees of the Arboretum, volunteers have cleared fallen trees and brush to permit use of the trails in the near future. The cleared trails permit hiking from the Arboretum headquarters north to Greentree Road and around a loop of trail north of the Tree Bridge. The trails on the east side of the stream are still being cleared and are not open at this time. The trail system runs north and south from Greentree Road to Kempsville Road.
