Summary: This trail was meant for horseback riding but I found it to be an excellent hiking trail as well. What makes this hike is the solitude, Length, Climbs, and Variety of forest types. The Topo map I made has numbers on it. The numbers represent trail posts. On the post there are numbers and arrows showing which way the trail goes. They are usually placed at trail crossings. For the most part there are very little trail markers except in areas were the trail can get confusing. Then there are small round markers with the horseback riding symbol. The entire loop I did was incredible you will pass through old Farm Fields, Deep Hemlock Ravines, White Pine Forest and craggy rock outcrops. You will pass views of the Delaware River and the Kittatinny Ridge in NJ. What made this loop peaceful is the fact that it is hidden. It weaves through many ravines and Valleys were the sunlight does not shine bright. For maps use the Milford USGS Quad and call the Park. Trailhead: From Town Of Milford PA Take rt. 209 South about 2 miles. Make a right onto Raymondskill Rd. ( There will be a sign for Raymondskills Falls) Go up hill and past the Raymondskills Parking. Continue on windy Rd and you will come to a stop sign. Make left onto rt. 2001. Take about 1 mile and make left onto Conashaugh Rd. Follow road until it turns to dirt. Parking is on the left in front of horse farm. The turn off at #4 coming back from #7 towards the lot is on the right just before a stream crossing. Before the marker, a farmer's wall is up on the hill on the right. The marker is set back in high weeds. 2 of us hiked this today, but took the cutoff, going straight to marker #4 and heading over to #8, round the loop and back to the parking lot. This took us 3 hours at a moderate pace, resting on hills but not stopping for more than a minute. I would come back and do the full hike. A large section of the trail has wide groomed roadway, in fact, one car passed us. We were surprised, since we weren't prepared for car traffic, but the trail headed back into the woods while the road continued on. We actually saw the turn off just by accident. So when on the downhill section from Marker #4, watch the woods on the left for the marker. The marker is just past a stream crossing but I can't remember, if it's the second or third crossin Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
