Summary: The terrain is much like one would expect in southern Alabama. It is reasonably flat and there are lots of pine trees. The trail has a short side trail leading to natural spring. The trails are in great shape and the terrain is pretty easy. There are numerous ponds, both at Blue Pond Recreation Area and Open Pond Recreation Area. This is a nice short hike from the camping area at Open Pond. Trailhead: There is plenty of parking at the Blue Pond Recreation Area. There are signs off of Hwy 137 directing you to this area.
