Summary: This Trail is part of a "cross-county" trail system in Lancaster County. The trail system connects the Mason Dixon trail to the Trail in the north. The area i have detailed here, is one of the sections that is still located in wooded areas. most of the trail crosses through neighborhoods, and main streets. However, this section includes about a mile of hiking on railroad tracks. This out and back section does take you up a steep hill to overlooks of the river, and a nice crossing of the Tucquan Creek. This section of the trail is an up and down hike through the creek valleys back to the tracks, and back up to the Pinnacle overlook. If you plan to hike this, definetly pick up a trail system map at the overlook, and keep eyes open for the orange blazes.
Trailhead: The Trailhead I used was located at the Pinnacle Overlook. This overlook itself is worth coming for! To get here, you must take route 372 W. to River Road. At River Rd. turn right until you come to Pinnacle Rd. Follow Pinnacle Rd. to its end, park and look for the Orange Blazes off the left of the Overlook. (Lat:39.5 Lon:-76.2)

I have hiked parts of this trail; Touquan Glen to the Pennicle and back; kelly's run to the Pennicle and back; holtwood dam to 372 and back. Three seperate hikes with a dog. I have also hiked from Conestoga Blvd near Safe Harbor to Main st. on to hilltop and back to river road. Nice quiet country roads with little traffic. Be careful of the traffic though. Country kids drive faster than they need too.
