Summary: The Deleware River Canal State Park from Uhlerstown to Lumberville has the smooth, even surface common to the entire canal towpath. The best scenery along this section is the Delaware River itself

Should you want to make a loop of the trip, cross the pedestrian only bridge at Lumberville over Bulls Island and join the Delaware and Ruritan Canal North to Frenchtown. After crossing the bridge continue south on Rt. 32 a short way and turn left just before the covered bridge. This will take you back to Tinicum Park for a loop of almost 17 miles.


Trailhead: Parking is at Northern end of this section is at the Tinicum County Park on Route 32 between Uhlerstown and Erwinna. (Lat: N40 30.374 Lon: W75 4.472) The park has water, rest rooms and camping areas. It also has an extensive disk golf course.

Parking at Hendrick Island is on Route 32 about midway between Lumberville and Center Bridge. (Lat: N40 24.427 Lon: W750.205)
