Summary: This is a lovely hike along the banks of Indian Creek to Paradise Falls and beyond to a secluded picnic area called Skunk Hollow. From the parking lot, follow the fire road down hill, bearing right just before the bridge. Follow the road/trail along the edge of the creek until you come to the Paradise falls, then continue down stream on the fire road, crossing the stream 4 times and passing several oak shaded picnic areas. When you see the sign to Skunk Hollow, go towards Lizard rock for a few hundred feet for an easier stream crossing. At Skunk Hollow, take the Eagle Point trail to where it reconnects with the fire road upstream. Hike back to Paradise falls, then up the stairs to the fire road, following the fire road up hill to where you will see a junction with Moonridge trial. Bear right and you will be back to the parking lot. Although this trail does lots of meandering, you really can't get lost if you just go down stream, then come back upstream. Trailhead: From the Moorpark Freeway (23), exit on Avenida de Los Arboles and go west (a right turn if you are coming from Moorpark). Follow de Los Arboles until it ends at Big Sky Drive. Make a U-turn and the park entrance is on the right side of the road. Drive through the first parking lot and follow the dirt road for about 1 mile until it dead ends into the 2nd parking lot. God bless the noble savage. Oh ya, and the trail is beautiful. I am so glad my great, great, great grandfather road for the calvary and wiped out the Indians so that my kids and I could enjoy this beautiful park. Life is good. What a beautiful park! Paradise Falls could be in the High Sierra, with increasingly dramatic rapids leading to a grand plunge. The road to the second parking lot was closed, but there are many other hiking trails here. Moonridge Trail to Indian Creek took me past the equally beautiful Little Falls, before Paradise Falls. Everything in the above description was right on. We even found a nice "beach like" location to lunch at. The kids and the dog got to play in the water while my husband and I sat along the bank and watched. Definately good exercise lots of picinic areas along the way. Flushing bathrooms and a sink at the main picnic area. Clean with trash cans and fountains along the way. Definatley worth checking out make sure to bring you video recorder or camera the falls are georgous. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
