Hike along flooded Econ River

Highlights:

A hike I've previously reported, but this time it's flooded
Near:Oviedo, FL
Scenery:
Distance:5.15 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:20 ft
Hike Time:3 hours
Difficulty:Moderate
Trail Condition:Poorly maintained trail
HikeType:Out and Back

Summary: The area near the river was flooded, so not much of the trail system is accessible unless you can go through mosquito-y and aligator infested water. What was cool was the river was high (and therefore deep) and I was able to do some bridge jumping off the new bride into the Econ River. The conditions were perfect: high temps, high water, but not too high.

So here's the hike info: if we've gotten a lot of rain lately, the hiking trails may not be accessible, but you can have fun at the bridge!

Trailhead: Flagler Trail South on Snow Hill Road in Chuluota or Oviedo (Lat:28.645 Lon:-81.111)

I have done this trail several times, including the week after a big big rain... after a hurricane maybe? The water was nearly to the top of the bridge railing, and to get there you had to go down the hill and through water that was more than 5' deep... over my shoulders! I wasn't even thinking about alligators or water moccasins. How stupid can I be? Made me think of Viet Nam, carrying my stuff on my head!
