Baldface, Wild River, Basin loop

Highlights:

Great views, rugged trail, remote backpacking adventure
Near:Center Conway, NH
Scenery:
Distance:16 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:4685 ft
Hike Time:11 hours
Difficulty:Strenuous
Trail Condition:Poorly maintained trail
HikeType:Loop

Summary: We spent the first night at the South Baldface shelter - a short night hike in. The second day we summited South Baldface, North face then took Eagle link back into the wilderness. The eagle link trail is not heavily used and there was significant deadfall on the trail. The Wild River trail is very easy as it is an old railroad bed. We spend the second night at the Spruce Brook campsite at the junction of two lovely babbling brooks.
Trailhead: NH Route 113 about 2.5 miles N of Maine state line at Route 113-B and about 1.8 miles S of Maine state line near Basin Pond, elevation about 510 feet.
