Summary: Geocacher Questmaster has placed three geocaches near the town of Fairchance, PA. For this hike you'll need to visit http://www.navicache.com, search for caches near zip code 15436 and program the following waypoints into your GPS. The first cache is Scattered Remains. (the google link thakes you to that page). From there, travel to Polly Takes the Plunge. This is a multi-stage cache that, when you find the cache will have coordinates to Stage Two which is a short distance to the NorthWest. At those second coordinates you will find coordinates for the final stage. Save these for your drive back. Next, travel to Cache Twenty-Two and then back to your car. Most of your hike will be on rutted but easy to follow jeep trails with only the occasional bushwack to get to the caches themselves (especially to Cache-22). You may be able to find alternate trails, the track is the route that I took. Trailhead: Leave US Route 40 at Hopwood and travel South towards Fairchance. Turn East onto Elm Street and follow this back to a place the locals know as the Hi-To Club. Park at N39° 49.583', W79° 43.788'. Head straight East for the 'trail' access. As this is on abandoned private land (formerly a DuPont mulitions plant) so there are no facilities or trail markers. The locals use this area for hunting and off-road joyriding, so show the appropriate caution.
