great hill hike past bouldering spots and a cool canyon

Elevation Gain:1241 ft
Hike Time:3 hours

Summary: While the trailhead is busy, once on the trail you will see few people. The flat start will warm you up for the uphill fun. I recommend going counter-clockwise, but either way is an enjoyable workout. Trails for this loop are flagstaff, ute (on the top of the mountain) and gregory canyon. At the top take time to take in the views and rest. On the way up are several spots to try bouldering if you need even more workouts.
Trailhead: travel to Boulder and head west on Baseline Rd. Go up the hill and turn south into chautauqua park. Park at the first place you find. (Lat:39.99947 Lon:-105.28262)

This is an interesting trail run. Witnessed two aggressive "off leash" dogs chase a fox. The owners were unresponsive and unconcerned. The Black Lab chased two runners in our group. Be careful - carry Pepper spray!!!

Not a bad hike. Initially there are a number of trails at the beginning, the hiker has to be vigilant to make sure to stay on the right trail. We took baseline trail, to flagstaff trail, then to ute trail in order to reach the top, or Realization point. Then crossed the street to take Gregory Canyon back to the parking lot. Elevation and hike time were accurate.

A very simple and nice hike. Would be enjoyed by even hikers who do not like tough or technical trails. Dog liked this hike too.
