Summary: A nice short loop, only .5 miles. This loop will take you down by a small pond where you can watch birds and occasionally see a fish in the pond. A nice stroll and a nice place to visit for some R&R during the middle of the day. Trailhead: From Route 16 aka Spaulding Turnpike in Portsmouth get off at the Pease AFB exit. Enter the old air base and bear right to reach to reach Arboretum Drive following the brown signs to the Great Bay National Refuge. It is about 3 miles or so from the entrance.
