Summary: As the name implies, you get grand views from this point from the very first step. As you walk down this well marked trail, you get views of the canyon area basin of the Green River. The trail is basically flat, and meanders through slickrock and a few shrubs and small trees. After about 1 mile you will come to the end of the trail. Scramble up the rocks and pick a place to sit for a while and just take it all in. This is why you came to Canyonlands. Retrace your steps to the parking area. On your way back, try to find 4 WD vehicles or even bicyclists on the White Rim Trail below you. Trailhead: The trailhead is located in the Islands section of Canyonlands National Park. From the Visitors Center, continue on the main park road until it comes to a Y. Turn left (South) and drive 6 miles to the large parking area for Grand View Point Overlook. The trail starts to the right of the parking area.
