Summary: Hike north around Bear Lake about 1/4 mile. Follow signs to Flattop Mountain. Enjoy the Dream Lake overlook on the way. On Flattop enjoy the views on the continental divide, when ready turn south and follow the ridge trail up to the peak. Watch out for rain/snow on the top. Return the way you came.
Trailhead: From Estes Park, take US36 west to the Beaver Meadows entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Once in the park, go south on Bear Lake Road to the shuttle parking. Ride a shuttle bus to bear lake. (Lat:40.31214 Lon:-105.64624)

The views in the Fall are fantastic. I would recomend it too anyone who loves the heights and scenery. There are also three more peaks you can bag if you have the time.

Beautiful scenery all along the way to Flattop Mountain. The views from Hallets peak is only second to Longs peak in the Rocky Mountain National park.

Absolutely amazing views!! It is awesome to look out into the Rockies once past the treeline. You have to see for yourself...words really can't explain how cool it really is!
