Summary: From the Orange gate head west on the gravel road for about 450 feet and look for a mound of gravel on your left and the trail on your right. Follow this "lower" trail up and across the 612.4 road. The continue on the "upper" trail till you reach the top at the 600 - Patterson Road. This is your turn around point. From here you can go back down, or follow the 600 road south and come down Dan's trail. Horse Trail is open year round to hikers, bikers and horses, but it will be muddy in spots in the winter. Trailhead: A very popular hike in Corvallis, Oregon. From I-5 take Corvallis exit, as you come into town over the Willamette River (HWY 34) take a right on 3rd Street/HWY 99W (north) and follow to a stop light on Walnut Blvd (take a left at the light). Turn right off of Walnut onto Highland Drive, at the bottom of the second hill take a left onto Crescent Valley Drive. The road will bend right, the left, as the road starts a second bend to the right, go straight (up the short gravel hill) or "left" onto Jackson Creek and follow to the very small parking lot at the orange gate. This is the start of your hike.
