Summary: This trail climbs up a ridge on the east side of Mormon Mountain. The trail meanders through a forest of ponderosa pines and small oaks and ends at Lake View Vista where you get a view of Mormon Lake and the surrounding countryside. The trail is well maintained, but very rocky it's entire length, so wear sturdy shoes/boots. Trailhead: From Flagstaff follow Lake Mary RD Approx. 20 miles. Turn right on Mormon Lake road. Follow Mormon Lake RD approx 5 miles and turn right at the sign for Double Springs Campground/Lake View Trail. The trailhead parking are is marked, and just inside the campground. Just before popping out into the open, you can catch a very small trail off to the right that winds down in front of the Lake View cliffs to Wiemer Spring. I believe this is planned for the AZT Mormon Lake section. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
