Summary: This is a pleasant walk through an intereseting forest. I don't know why these trees where planted in rows like this but it was a long time ago. The only hard part about this hike is the walk along the road to the trailhead. Do not park along the road the rangers have been known to ticket. Expect to see plenty of wildlife including deer and birds. Trailhead: The park is five miles from Dallas and ten miles from Wilkes-Barre. From exit 170B of I-81, take PA 309 north about seven miles (7.2). Turn right (east) on Carverton Road and go about four miles (4.2). Turn left (north) on 8th Street Road and go about one mile (1.3). Turn left (west) onto Mt. Olivet Road and go one mile. The park entrance is on the left. Enter the park and park in a lot, walk to the trail head (no parking by it) just where the raod to organized camping crosses the lake.
