Summary: This is an easy hike in the Yosemite high country. Personally, if I could only do one hike here - I would climb the strenuous peak of Mt. Dana. But, if you have small children, or aren't up for a butt-kicker, then this is your hike. You can scramble up the backside of the dome, or just walk around it. It is very easy in places, you just gradually walk up the back of the dome, you might not even break a sweat. Follow the loop around some nice mountain lakes and streams, and back to the highway. This is an enjoyable hike, and if you have a lot of time in the high country, you may as well do it, you do get some good views of the surrounding countryside.
Trailhead: From the 395 take Tioga Road Highway 120 to Tuolumne Meadows. You will have to pay $20 at the entrance gate and continue about 7 miles to Tuolumne Meadows. Park on the right at the Lembert Dome/Soda Springs/Dog Lake/Glen Aulin trailhead. Start your hike where the sign says Soda Springs .5 mile. (Lat:37.88172 Lon:-119.34696)

The trail up the canyon on the west side of Lembert Dome is dusty, rocky and steep. It's a lot easier to walk west along the highway, then turn and go up the hill. When you're up on the rock, make sure you're not wearing your slippery shoes!
