Summary: This is a wonderful hike through 600 year old pines along the snow melt-fed McKenzie River. Wonderful views, peaceful settings and an easy trail to follow. You will cross the Mckenzie and other feeder streams several times on log bridges with hand-rails. The trail is one person wide and there are rocks and roots in the trail. The trail gets a lot of use so be aware of mountain bikers especially. Plenty of places to pause and take in the view, each lunch, or to fish.
Trailhead: From I-5 at Eugene/Springfield take Highway 126 east towards Bend, Oregon. Travel approximately 40 miles to the Trail Bridge Campground. It is here that you join the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail # 3507 which is a 26 mile trail. This section goes from the Trail Bridge Campground to the Belnap Hotsprings Resort which is about 8 miles one way. You can park a car at both ends, walk down and back (or up and back), or hitch back to your car.
