Summary: I wouldn't drive all the way up Mt. Lemmon just for this little hike, but if you are escaping the Tucson heat, you may as well enjoy this very green little loop. Starting near the top of Mt. Lemmon, this loop follows the Mount Lemmon Trail for a few hundred feet, then forks. Follow the trail to the right (Meadow Trail) as it twists around, then down a ridgeline with wonderful views of Tucson and Oro Valley. The trail meets back up with the Mount Lemmon Trail after 0.8 miles. Turn left onto Mount Lemmon Trail, and climb back to the trailhead.

There is an active lookout tower you can see, also.

Trailhead: From Speedway and Campbell, head east on Speedway Blvd for 5.0 miles. Turn left at N Wilmot Rd and follow for a half mile. Wilmot turns into Tanque Verde Red. Continue on E Tanque Verde Rd for 3.8 miles. Turn left at E Catalina Hwy and follow for 4.5 miles. This turns into Mt Lemmon Hwy that you follow up for 24.6 miles. Turn right at the sign for Ski Valley. Follow Ski Run Rd for 3.1 miles all the way to the top. The trailhead is on the left. (Lat:32.44022 Lon:-110.7867)
