After 30+ years of hiking in New England, I believe this is the most spectacular route I have ever hiked in the Northeast. The rugged beauty, the difficulty, remoteness, and steepness put it at the top of my personal list. The White, Green and Adirondack Mountains are merely a prelude to this experience.
