Norvin Green SF Mine Loop

Summary: From parking follow Highlands trail (blue diamond blazes) across the field. Make left on Townsend Rd and in a few hundred feet turn right into woods, still following blue blazes. Continue uphill to ridgeline where there are several nice viewpoints along the way. Highlands trail then descends to Blue Mine (flooded). From here turn right using the red dot on white blazed trail (do not cross bridge). Follow to junction of the Mine Trail (orange blazes) turn right. Pass Roomy Mine on left. Entry is forbidden Sept 1 - Apr. 30th due to hibernating bats, but otherwise an interesting side exploration (bring flashlight).Mine Trail soon meets a yellow on white blazed trail and they climb together to another nice viewpoint. Stay on orange trail, back to the Highlands Trail. Turn left on Highlands Trail and return to your vehicle
Trailhead: I 287 to Skyline Dr.exit (57). North on Skyline Drive to end. Make left on Greenwood Lake Tpk (CR 511). Go 1.6 miles and turn right onto West Brook Rd. Stay left at junction with West Brook. Continue about 1/4 mile and parking is on left at cement blocks. There is a no trespassing sign, but parking here is fine. Leave a "hiking" note on the dashboard. (Lat:41.07166 Lon:-74.31)
