Summary: For most of the trail you will be following the Bay Circuit Trail - Section 8. Take a look at: http://www.serve.com/baycircuit/traildesc.html for trail description. From parking lot follow salamander trail untill BCT junction. Continue straight entering BSA reservation. Follow ridge and bear right to Tippling Rock - good views of the north of Boston on clear days. Continue on the Bay Circuit Trail - white rectangular blazes. Cross Brimstone Lane (you will see a parking lot there) and re-enter the woods. Walk northwest on this trail. At the first, and second intersections turn left. At this point you will be leaving the BCT for a trail that will conduct you to a dam. This dam is known as Ford's Folly, as it was built by Henry Ford, but it failed to hold water. After you reach the area, you can return via the same trail system, or you can decide to take a walk to the Nobscot Mt., and return via another of the numerous trails in this area. Trailhead: Trailhead Address: 641 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA Trailhead coordinates: N42.36028, W71.44111 Trailhead is west of the parking lot for the Weissblatt conservation land. Follow the Salamander trail marks, about 0.4mi to the junction with the Bay Circuit Trail. You're never out of earshot of the road, but it's easy to lose track of where you are. The different areas like Tipping Rock, the fire tower, ford folleys are nice, but the Nobscot Boy Scouts have cut far too many trails in their 600 arce area. It's too small to get lost, but there are so many trails with the same color markings that it's close to impossible to find where you are trying to get to or know where you are at any one time (following the maps that is). If you have GPS your all set. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous. You are responsible for informing yourself about these hazards and taking necessary precautions.
