Summary: From the parking lot you'll notice 2 entrances into the Nature Trail loop about 40 feet from each other. It doesn't matter which one you take. The trail is clearly marked with signs at all of the intersections letting you know which way to go. You can access other trails including the Arizona Trail from the Nature Loop. This scenic trail leads you through an area of desert grassland with mesquite trees, shrub oaks, and prickly pear. There's a wildlife viewing area where you can stand behind a concrete blind and look for birds and other animals. Along the hike you'll notice the Galiuro mountains and the San Pedro River valley to the east, the Santa Catalina mountains to the south and the Tortolita Mountains the west. Clovis man occupied areas along the San Pedro River 10,000 years ago.

This is a great stand alone trail or you can access other trails like the Arizona Trail, the Wildlife Corridor, the Bellota Trail Loop, or the Windy Ridge Trail Loop.

Trailhead: Your trailhead destination for the hike is Oracle State Park in Oracle (north of Tucson). If you're driving from Tucson on highway 77 take American Avenue (a right turn) once you get to Oracle. The road winds through the business district of town. Take a right on Mt. Lemmon Road and proceed for a couple of miles. The turn-off will be on the left with the Oracle State Park sign clearly visible.

Since this is a State Park this is an entrance fee ($6 per vehicle) unless you have State Park pass. Pay at the entrance. Drive to the end of the park and the trail head is by the Kannally Ranch house (Lat:32.60847 Lon:-110.73287)
