Summary: The northern end of this section of trail has things to recommend it like the embankment along Rt.21 and the Massilon Waste Water Treatment Plant, but the southern end has wetland environs and seclusion. Midway on the trail, when it crosses Warmington Rd. is John Glenn Grove, a pleasant and wooded area that has been reclaimed from a nearby strip mine. It's a shame that the stream still suffers from acid mine drainage but it's not as bad as I'm sure it once was. Trailhead: Parking at the northern end of this section is at Oak Knoll Park off of Walnut Rd. (N40 47.347 W81 31.532) There is a trail through the park then it's across the bridge to meet up with the trail on the other side as it runs south along the Massilon Levee. To continue north, you have to ride up 4th, 5th and 6th Streets where you can connect with the Sippo Valley Trail or cross the bridge and find the O and E Canal again. John Glenn Grove has parking and a portajohn just of Warmington Rd. about midway between Massilon and Navarre. (N40 45.101 W81 31.646) Waterworks Park is at the southern end of this section right off of Wooster St. in Navarre (N40 43.522 W81 31.744) There is a portajohn and a short watered section of the canal. Trail trail continues across the street and continues south.
