Summary: From the gate at the OSU barns you'll hike along the Campus Way bike path past a relocated covered bridge on a straight course west. You'll cross 53rd street and pick up the Midge Cramer memorial trail which is also paved and continues west directly to Bald Hill. The path will end at a T-junction. Go left and with in 100 feet you'll take a right onto a single track dirt path with takes 7 switch backs and then ends on the top of Bald Hill. As you head up the switch back trail, stay to the right at any junctions. On top you'll find a bench, a monument rock, several survey bench marks and if you geocache, there is a cache nearby. Trailhead: From I-5 take Corvallis Exit Hwy 34 west. As your enter Corvallis the road will become Harrison Blvd. Follow Harrison till the light at 35th street where you take a left. At Campus Way take a right at this gate into the OSU animal pens is your start point. Parking at this point might be difficult, but I've never had a problem parking at the barns (no cars are allowed past the barns). It was a nice hike. I have however, mountain biked this trail a few times. It's a good workout and you do not have to go out into the forest to ride it. There is an Outlook Trail to the right that climbs singletrack to the top. Bald Hill has a nice view. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
