Summary: All of the trails are unmarked in Panthetown Valley and great care should be used in navigating in this area. A map can be obtained at the local hiking store in Cashiers, NC. The trail starts at the Cold Mtn Parking area and quickly descends down hill along switchbacks on a wide trail. Take a quick side trip to the scenic SchoolHouse Falls. Then resume the hike along BoardCamp Ridge. As you ascend you will come to an obvious fork. Go left for another quick side trip to Lower Warden Falls. Great camping spot. Retrace back to the fork and bear right. After about .30 miles take the side trail to the left and view a nice unnamed waterfall. Follow the river a short distance for viewing a rock overhang next to the waters edge. Retrace your hike back to the Cold Mountain parking area.
Trailhead: Take Hwy 64 West out of Brevard. Turn North on Hwy 281. Go approximately .9 miles and go left (west) on Cold Mtn Road. Drive about 5 miles and you will see the sign for the Panthertown Valley parking area. The trail starts at the right of the parking area. (Lat:35.1680897412465 Lon:-83.0398038421409)
