Summary: This hike begins at the border of Texas and New Mexico, at the Mexican Border. The Pyramid shaped marker is Border Marker 1, a US Benchmark. Follow along the west side of the river. You can stick to the road, or skirt the edge of the river if you like. The area has many trees to rest under. Watch out for the critters along the river. Trailhead: From the junction of I-10 and US-54, go west in I-10 to the Executive Center Road exit. Exit I-10 and turn left on Executive Center Road. Follow Executive Center Road down to the intersection of Executive Center Road and US-85 (Paisano Drive). The start point is just across the river. Walk across the private bridge, DO NOT DRIVE. NOTE: It is recommended that you get a drop-off at this point and leave a vehicle at the end to get home. Do not leave a vehicle here.
