Summary: This hike begins at the Racetrack Drive bridge to Sunland Park, New Mexico. Follow along the east side of the river. You can stick to the road, or skirt the edge of the river if you like. The area has many trees to rest under. Watch out for the critters along the river. Trailhead: From the junction of I-10 and US-54, go west on I-10 to the Sunland Park Drive exit. Exit I-10 and turn left on Sunland Park Drive. Follow Sunland Park Drive down to the intersection of Old Texas 20 (Doniphan Drive). Turn left on Doniphan Drive. Proceed to Racetrack Drive and turn right. The hike starts where Racetrack Drive crosses the river on the right. (At park).
