Summary: We chose this trail as it is an easy biking trail, but is suitable for hiking also. About 1/3 of the trail follows along the edge of the Meremac River and affords beautiful views of the bluffs and the river. Herds of deer roam free in the savannah like setting the park has and it is not unusual to see large antlered bucks, a thrill for the kids. The trail also connects to several other trail systems in the area allowing for a much longer hike, or several other day hikes. We also did a short 1/2 mile but strenuous trail in West Tyson County Park.
Trailhead: We chose to start at the Chubb Trailhead at West Tyson County Park. You can also begin at the Visitor Center at the State Park for a shorter hike. Both are easily accessable from Interstate 44 and the Lewis Rd. Exit. A map with directions can be found here:

THe hike trail was okay, nice walk for the entire family, not very challenging but great workout for biking, roller blading, and safe. We saw a few deers along the way. Most of the path is semi paved. As we were living we passed another trail called Tyson trail and checked it out and much more primitive and definitely a challenge.
